bRain-STORM, Investigating our Amazing Atmosphere
‘Imiloa’s 2013 Fall Intersession Program

Hilo, Hawai‘i – ‘Imiloa Astronomy Center is seeking junior explorers and innovators in grades K-3 for the CAMP ‘Imi-POSSIBLE Fall Intersession Program “bRain-STORM” happening Monday–Friday, October 7-11, 2013.

“bRain-STORM” investigates our amazing atmosphere! Keiki explorers will be immersed in a week long adventure of exciting science experiments and activities looking at the extraordinary weather systems of island Earth in the sea of space! The final day, parents, along with keiki, will actively participate in the bRain-STORM Hō‘ike, a celebration of new learning.

The camp runs from Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Drop off is available as early as 7:30 a.m. with pick up by 4 p.m. Lunch and snacks are not included, so pack a snack and healthy lunch so your keiki can keep up with each day of exploration.

Enrollment for the intersession program is open, but space is limited. Tuition for the program is $180 for members and $200 for non-members.

A limited number of need based scholarships are available.  Applications and scholarship information can be found on our website, www.imiloahawaii.org/183. Please submit completed applications and payment to our front desk.

‘Imiloa Astronomy Center of Hawai‘i is a cultural science center located on the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo campus. ‘Imiloa is a place of life-long learning where the power of Hawai‘i’s cultural traditions, our legacy of exploration and the wonders of astronomy come together to provide inspiration for generations. The Center’s interactive exhibits, 3D full dome planetarium, native landscape, programs and events engage families, and visitors in the wonders of science and technology found in Hawai‘i.
