CELEBRATE MOTHER’S DAY AT ‘IMILOA WITH A HIGH TEA & CHAT!
Hilo, Hawai‘i – ‘Imiloa Astronomy Center presents its first High Tea & Chat on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at 11 :30 a.m. Treat someone special or come with friends to an event that will be sure to delight. Partake in tea, scones and desserts provided by Teaching Tea; tea sandwiches created by Moonstruck Patisserie; and decorated cookies designed by A Little Bit of Paris, all presented on an eclectic collection of fine china. Relax and learn about the role that women and mothers have had on the history of tea as JoAnn Aguirre presents a chat on “Mothers & Tea: Women’s Place in Tea History.” Music will be provided by Lorien Brownlea who will play the violin and mandolin. Hats are welcome to this English affair.
This event is part of an on-going Tea Chat Series presented by Aguirre. With over twenty years of experience in tea, Aguirre shares her knowledge and experiences she’s gained from around the world. She is owner of Hawai‘i Island’s only dedicated tea shop, Teaching Tea located in Manono Marketplace. They offer tea education, quality loose leaf teas, gifts and accessories. They also carry exquisite Hawai‘i grown tea, as well as teas from around the world.
