Parallel: Works by Shingo Honda
East Hawai’i Cultural Center is currently displaying Shingo Honda’s exhibition Parallel which is curated by Andrzej Kramarz through September 24, 2021.
Honda, who came to the Big Island in 2005, was associated with the Mono-Ha art group in Japan. A striking feature of Honda’s work is his exploration of white space – described by author and art critic Amaury Saint-Gilles as “the liberator and savior connecting the past to the present.”
